Here are two videogame ideas I've had while out of town.
* A dragon-raising game. You capture a baby dragon and raise it to your liking. Your dragon can make a living by running errands (perhaps this world has messenger-dragons instead of messenger pigeons?) or by fighting in an arena against other dragons. Or you can just go feral and live off the land. Or a multitude of other options. :D
* A real-time-strategy-ish game in which you are a robot. Your directive is simply, "Build". Build helper-bots to do stuff for you, make them build factories to build more helper-bots, etc. Ultimately you can build an "Iron Nation" (is it too early to copyright that?) and use your resources to protect the world... or rule it with an iron fist.
Someone make these games plz. |

I'm not gonna say "it can't get any worse", 'cause I know it can. But the problem is stagnancy. I've become so fed up with the dull and unchanging nature of my life that, at this point, even a change for the worse seems desirable. |

The good thing about a factory environment: Machines do most of the work.

Hi, remember me? :p I'm still alive.
I've felt sick to my stomach for the past two nights. I know I should probably just shove a finger down my throat and get it over with, but ... ehh.
*shrug*
... in the meantime, I bought Freelancer, which is a really cool game. It's a spiritual successor to Wing Commander Privateer, and it's kind of an ideal vision of what EVE Online should be. So, yeah. Lots of fun.
[Three hours of fascinated clicking]
... hey, at least it wasn't TVTropes. |

I hate to admit this... but I miss World of Warcraft. Of all the MMOs I've played, only it and City of Heroes have earned my respect... WoW, grudgingly so. I have a love-hate relationship with WoW. It's not easy, and the low-level content is a bore, but it's not hard and I constantly feel pressured to continue onward. After all, it only gets better. Level 1-20 is meh. Level 20-60 is painfully boring. Level 60-80 is pure awesome.
...I still haven't tried WLK, but I've only heard good things.
*sigh* Wish I could find a private server. I used to play on one, but it got B& by Blizzard. =( Someone plz hook me up. |

I've been requested for jury-duty twice, but I was busy with college at the time. I would like to give it a try sometime, though. |

If it were more socially-acceptable to kill people, the world would be a much simpler place.
A man has terminal cancer. His life is suffering. He can't be cured, but his religion forbids suicide. All he can do is wait for the painful end.
A woman is old and miserable. Nothing in this world gives her pleasure. She is a constant burden on her family, but instead of ending her pain, they feel obligated to 'help' her.
Hell, think about it. If you were these people, would you want to continue living? Or would you want someone to give you a quick and merciful end?
Not to mention... countless inmates crowd the prisons, many of them with no intentions of reform. They are fed and clothed by your tax dollars.
Getting over our 'no killing' taboos would really be much simpler.
... but you'll notice I said "simpler", not "better". I'm sure there would be some self-righteous wankers committing "justified" killings that really aren't.
But, personally, I don't think I'd mind. |

"Socialism" is not a dirty word. I don't get the Republicans' obsession with it. Do they somehow think that Socialism = Communism, or what? I seriously don't get it. Someone please enlighten me. |

Walter Cronkite died. 92 years old. I'd heard that he was sick, so I'm unsurprised. But still... damn.
The world has lost its best journalist today. ;_; |

What is the difference between Socialism and Communism?
My interpretation-- In Socialism, the government provides for the people. In Communism, the government provides for the people they like; screw the rest of 'em. |

I'm looking forward to the zombie apocalypse. Michael Jackson will lead an army of dancing undead. Our last moments will be spent gleefully dancing to "Thriller".
Meanwhile, zombie Billy Mays will continue being an over-the-top William-Shatner-esque self-parody.
T_T Why are all these awesome celebs dying??? |
